I used to stream my paper sculpting a few years ago (and intend to start up again, just not sure when), but it’s been a while since I shared my process – so here’s how my new sculpture “Puss in Boots” was made from start to finish!

First, I start with a sketch –

Then I figure out what the pieces should be and trace out shapes and attach them to their corresponding colored papers –

Next I cut out the pieces and then shape them (unfortunately the photo I took of the shaped parts was corrupted somehow!) –

Then finally, the shaped pieces are layered and glued together creating the finished sculpture!

And that’s how my paper sculptures are made! Sometime soon™ I’ll start live-streaming the creation of my sculptures again on Twitch. “Puss in Boots” is up for auction on ebay until the 27th of December as part of the Nibblefest Art Contest, a monthly themed art contest where entries are auctions starting at just 99 cents! For the first time in quite a few years, I’m back with some new Christmas ornament kitten sculptures! Ornaments are available in a variety of popular colors/patterns, and I’m also accepting limited *custom* orders based on your cat (or someone else’s – makes a wonderfully unique gift)!

I’ll be accepting orders until December 12 (orders may pause/close sooner, depending on volume/workload), and ornaments will be shipped out ASAP to make sure they arrive in time for the holidays., and will ship ASAP to arrive in time to be enjoyed for the holidays.

This year I have 2 ornament designs to choose from – “Hang in There”, featuring a kitten dangling from a candy cane wreath, and “Santa’s Sack”, featuring a kitten peeking out of Santa’s present sack!

Ornaments are packaged in a cotton-lined window box which can be used for storage to help keep it safe for years to come!

All ornaments are $75 (includes FREE SHIPPING anywhere in the US) and will be made to order and shipped out ASAP to ensure they arrive in time for the holidays.

Hello again everyone! I hope life is treating you well. It’s been a while since my last post – but I’m finally getting back in the swing of things after my aneurysm issues. I can’t work all day yet, but I’ve been able to get some things made and some drawings ready to go for more!

Since I lost all my old pictures of my older works and can’t offer prints anymore, I’ve decided to revisit some ideas and make updated versions of some old favorites. First off, I decided to re-make “Cat Heaven”, so I drew it again with some minor changes but trying to stay true to the original. This time, however, I’m making a series of sculptures from the same/slightly altered versions of the drawing – so I’ll eventually be able to offer prints different versions of “Cat Heaven” with different colored cats! I started with a new tuxedo cat (already listed in the shop!), and am now working on a fluffier white cat.

I also have some sketches ready to go for other cat sculptures I’ll be making in the coming days/weeks. And…

For the first time in quite a few years I’ll soon be listing some Christmas ornament sculptures! This year I’ll be offering 2 designs – check out the preview below! Each will be available in my “common” colors and patterns (tuxedo, white, grey, orange tabby, grey tabby, etc…), as well as limited custom ornaments based on your own cats!

Hello again!

Sorry for going quiet so soon after finally starting to be more active! I started posting things again during a period of family/home stress and drama, and apparently I have limits! I’ve been recovering after an emergency hospital stay for an (unruptured) abdominal aneurysm and some spontaneous arterial dissections (seems I just have weak arteries… and those don’t mix well with stress/high blood pressure).

I’m doing “ok”, and hope to be back to working on new sculptures soon – still working on the stamina for sitting upright for long periods at the work table! Mostly I’m stuck lying back in a recliner – but I have been able to get some sketching done and will start sharing those until I can get back to sculpting!

For the time being, I will be postponing opening up commissions as I had planned just in case…

Of course, one result of having a medical emergency is all the bills and follow-up appointments and tests which I now have to find ways to pay for, so here is where I go more unprofessional and undignified than ever – if there is anything in the shop you’ve had your eye on but the price has made you hesitate, feel free to email me with an offer! I will readily consider any reasonable offer, and am always happy to get my art into the hands of someone who will enjoy it!

After another data loss and (near?) mental breakdown, I’m finally back!

As I tend to do sometimes, I fell into a bit of a “funk” and retreated from the world for a while – but I finally managed to get myself together and rebuild my website!

Unfortunately during my downtime I experienced another major data loss, including all my high resolution images I used to create my prints. So, for the time being I will not be offering prints. Over time I may add prints as I make new things, but for now I’m going to focus on originals and commission work.

I will be opening up commissions “soon”, so check back here or watch my socials (links above) for that announcement. I haven’t been active on social media for a while, and never really got the hang of it when I used it in the past, but I’ll be making an effort to keep updates flowing and share fun stuff!

My plan going forward is to post regularly on this blog, with new works and work in progress (WIP) updates and news. I may even get back to streaming the paper sculpting process on Twitch soon – we’ll see how things go for a while before making that decision.
